A global Financial Services corporation was in the process of implementing enhanced HR self-service functionality throughout their organization. The client’s initial approach involved an assessment of the integrated Portal solution that was part of the PeopleSoft HRMS that was already in place. The organization was not satisfied with the integrated portal solution due to limitations that were discovered during the evaluation. Due to a pre-defined look and feel and what was considered limited flexibility for employees not familiar with core HR processes, the client decided to look into other options for extending the HR functionality throughout the enterprise. CapTech was heavily involved in the client’s Enterprise Portal program and was asked to help consider other solutions.
Solution:
CapTech worked within the client’s Enterprise Portal program to develop a proof-of-concept (POC) integration between the existing PeopleSoft HRMS and the enterprise BEA WebLogic Portal solution. By focusing on top priority self service transactions such as ‘Address Change’, CapTech was able to leverage the PeopleSoft Web Service Implementation Framework to prove the viability of an integrated PeopleSoft/BEA WebLogic Portal solution. The completed POC was well received as it provided the client with a more flexible portal option and ultimately a more seamless user experience for their associates. CapTech established the framework and continued to deliver extended HR self-service capabilities within the Enterprise BEA Portal Solution.
