RESTON, VA – December 19, 2018 – Competing in the CapTech National Food Fight, CapTech's Washington, DC office raised $9,386 for the Capital Area Food Bank. The CapTech Food Fight is a friendly competition among the consulting firm's eight office locations. The check presentation took place at the Capital Area Food Bank on November 28.

"Addressing hunger in our region is a challenge that truly requires every sector, and companies like CapTech are an important part of the solution," said Christel Hair, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at the food bank. "At the holidays and throughout the year, companies that engage not only at the corporate level but also by getting their employees involved make an even greater impact for our neighbors."

CapTech's National Food Fight, which takes place annually in November, raised over $115,000 for local food banks across the country in 2018. CapTech DC competed against other offices to raise the most funds per capita for local food banks, increasing funds raised for the Capital Area Food Bank by 200% from the 2017 fundraiser.

"It is exciting to watch our entire office come together and grow in their commitment to supporting the mission of the Capital Area Food Bank through this friendly competition," said CapTech Managing Director David DeHaven.

The Capital Area Food Bank is the largest organization in the Washington DC metro area working to solve hunger. In addition to their own programs, the Food Bank partners with over 450 community organizations in DC, MD, and VA to help nearly half a million neighbors obtain access to good, healthy food.
