Building on an exciting Season 1, TGL presented by SoFi is gearing up for an even more entertaining Season 2. Since its inaugural season concluded, TGL and CapTech have collaborated on enhancements to elevate gameplay, the fan experience at the SoFi Center, and the viewing experience at home, which we are excited to unveil as Season 2 kicks off on December 28.

On the Field

In the offseason TGL completely revamped the GreenZone, removing a bunker and reworking both the green and immediate surrounding areas :

  • The green was expanded by 38% to 5,270 square feet, giving players more opportunities for Greens in Regulation and long putts. Hole locations also increased from seven to twelve.
  • The knoll was lowered by 18 inches to improve sightlines, while bunkers were enlarged by 50% and layered with revetted turf for authentic play.

On the ScreenZone side, perhaps the biggest upgrade is Unity 6 graphics and custom team holes, new graphics and scenes bring higher definition viewing both at home and in venue.

Under the Hood

TGL’s first season introduced fans to a brand-new way to watch, taking golf and infusing deep technology into a new sport that relies on technology to operate. For the past three years, CapTech has been partnering with TGL, primarily to build ScoreSight. As TGL focused on the player and fan experiences, CapTech worked to evolve ScoreSight, transforming how fans interact with data, insights, and the live event experience. Numerous iterations were made ‘back of house’ to create tools to further support broadcast, operations, marketing and technology teams, all of which enable an improved fan experience by extension. Some of the new features include:

Off-Season Events Developed for Off-Season Revenue

Immediately following the season, CapTech built “Mini Games”, including closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contests, allowing for additional activations and incremental revenue for TGL during the off-season. These games allow for easier participation for larger groups, including corporate outings, where playing a full match of TGL may not be feasible.

ScoreSight Chatbot Introduced for Rapid Performance Analysis

The launch of ScoreSight.AI brings conversational intelligence to the fan experience. This behind-the-scenes chatbot answers questions about matches, players, and stats, while also delivering pre-match reports as well as insights to broadcast, digital, and content teams. By utilizing AI, ScoreSight.AI can improve the speed to identification, insights that may not traditionally be noticed, bringing more stats to fans in the venue and at home.

Predictive Venue Operational Improvements Developed to Grow Revenue

Live Events AI Proof of Concept was developed to empower venue teams with actionable insights. By aggregating data on concessions, ticketing, and security scans—and correlating it with weather and action on the playing field —the system helps optimize operations and improve fan satisfaction, as well as driving incremental revenue. This is a first step toward predictive venue management, ensuring every event runs seamlessly.

More Data and Predictive Analytics to Enrich Broadcast Commentary

ScoreSight’s Shot Dashboard received significant upgrades, adding granular data points that enrich commentary and analysis. New Hole and Player Insights provide advanced metrics for teams and broadcasters, while Predictive Analytics provide data-informed insights into matches, players, teams, holes, etc. These features turn raw data into compelling narratives, giving TMRW Sports staff and media partners a deeper connection to the game.

Scoring Tool to Engagement Platform

These enhancements elevate ScoreSight to more than a scoring tool. By combining AI, analytics, and interactive experiences, ScoreSight transforms how fans consume golf, making every moment more immersive and every match more meaningful. For TGL, this evolution strengthens its identity as a tech-forward league and sets a new benchmark for fan engagement and the intersection of sports and technology.
