CapTech Gives Back: Supporting Veterans Through Tech for Troops

At CapTech, one of our CapTech Cares Focus Areas, Making Technology Accessible and Available, seeks to make a difference in our communities by ensuring equal access to technologies, education, and opportunities in technology.

Tech for Troops (T4T) is an organization in Richmond, VA that supports Veterans with upcycled and repurposed technology. They empower the under-resourced Veterans and their families by providing sustainable lifelong digital skills backed by training, education, and technology.

Every year, CapTech donates hundreds of laptops to organizations such as T4T, putting them to good use in the community and ensuring they don’t end up in our landfills. Since 2020, it is estimated CapTech has made 1,800 tech donations to T4T and others.

"It’s nice to be able to give back to one’s community and working with an organization that not only does that but supports veterans makes this an easy choice. Tech for Troops will recycle anything they can’t use or sell, which also helps us keep e-waste out of our landfills," said Chris Cosby, IT Operations, CapTech.
