CapTech Charlotte Food Fight Raises Over 31,000 lbs of Food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
CHARLOTTE, NC – Competing in the inaugural CapTech National Food Fight, the Charlotte office of CapTech raised over $4,500 for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. The CapTech Food Fight is a friendly competition among the consulting firm's eight office locations. The check presentation took place at the Food Bank during a volunteer event on December 7, 2017.
"Seeing our CapTechers rally with such generous spirit to fight hunger was both inspiring and humbling," said CapTech Principal Errol Restelli. "The creativity and enthusiasm our team brought to the challenge was exciting and it is amazing to reflect on the impact to the community."
CapTech's National Food Fight raised over $40,000 for local food banks across the nation this year. The Charlotte office competed head-to-head against other CapTech offices to raise the most funds per capita for local food banks. The Food Fight started as a local competition in 2013 at the company's headquarters in Richmond, VA and was expanded company-wide this year.
"With more than 188,000 children still living at or below the poverty line in our region, we are grateful for CapTech's support this year," said Lisa Nisely, Community Development Coordinator with Second Harvest. "The Charlotte office's creative fundraising efforts raised $4,535, and will help Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina provide another 38,045 pounds of food to neighbors in need. Its partnerships like this that make a real difference to people struggling to make ends meet in our community. We're lucky to have CapTech on our team fighting hunger!"
