CapTech Atlanta to Sleep Out for Covenant House Fundraiser
Many CapTechers from our Atlanta office are participating in the Sleep Out for Covenant House of Georgia, an organization that provides shelter and wraparound support services for homeless, at-risk and trafficked youth in the greater Atlanta area. In addition to spending the evening with the current Covenant House youth, participants will be sleeping outside for a night without shelter or warm blankets. They have a team fundraising goal of $5000; $1000 will provide shelter, supportive services and meals for 1 youth in crisis for 1 month. Covenant House is hoping to raise $100,000 through the event.
The Sleep Out is not about pretending to be homeless. It's an act of solidarity with the 4.2 million young people who experience homelessness each year. It's a decision not to stay indoors while so many kids remain outside. Boyd Christian, CapTech Atlanta office lead says, "At CapTech we are always striving to have a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. I'm proud of all the CapTechers who are partnering with Covenant House to help bring awareness to such an important issue."
