CapTecher Spearheads Effort to Collect and Deliver Needed Supplies to Puerto Rico
RICHMOND, VA | In late September, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico and rendered most of the island without power. That's why from November 3-9, CapTech collected supplies to deliver to the Northwest region of Puerto Rico. CapTecher and native Puerto-Rican Gilmarie Acevedo spearheaded the effort. "I grew up in Puerto Rico and was heartbroken with the situation the island was facing after the catastrophic scar left by hurricane Maria. I witnessed the devastation when traveling to bring supplies for my family and really wanted to help. CapTech always has demonstrated a strong community commitment and I was sure they would support the cause."
In only a week, CapTech was able to transport seven large suitcases full of medical, food, and other needed supplies. All the supplies were personally distributed, helping 10 children from the Regazo de Paz orphanage, patients at the Hospital San Carlos Borromeo, and additional families at Ministerio Catacumba #20.
